- All letters "a" to "z" without distinguishing between uppercase and lowercase are accepted;
- All numbers from "0" to "9" are allowed;
- Hyphens (-) are allowed but not at the begin or end in your domain name and you can't put 2 consecutives hyphens (--);
- The minimum length of the domain name is 3 characters extension (.uk) excluded;
- The maximum length of the domain name is 63 characters extension (.uk) excluded;
Documentation requirements
After registering the domain, the Authority could carry out checks by requesting a copy of the documents related to the domain holder.

Once the registration of the .Uk domain has been transmitted, the Authority will send an email to verify the header data. The domain will be registered immediately after confirming the email.

It is possible to register the .UK domains from 10-06-2014 provided that the corresponding III level domains are free. The header data of the .uk domain must coincide exactly with the header data of the corresponding .co.uk domain already registered.
