General Info about .ie domains names
- All letters "a" to "z" without distinguishing between uppercase and lowercase are accepted;
- All numbers from "0" to "9" are allowed;
- Hyphens (-) are allowed but not at the begin or end in your domain name and you can't put 2 consecutives hyphens (--);
- The minimum length of the domain name is 3 characters extension (.ie) excluded;
- The maximum length of the domain name is 63 characters extension (.ie) excluded;
Documentation requirements
Domains registered to Companies:
1. If the applicant is established in Ireland: provide the registration number for the local chamber of commerce.
2. If the applicant is established in the United Kingdom: the UK Chamber of Commerce registration number or show that the company has a connection with Ireland by sending a copy of one or more; invoices showing a connection of economic exchanges with Ireland.
3. If the applicant is not established in Ireland or the United Kingdom: copy of the Certificate of company; or the certificate of the registered trademark, copy of the identity document; of the legal representative (passport, identity card & tax code), Copy of one or more; invoices showing a connection of economic exchanges with Ireland.
There are no limits on the quantity & agrave; domains that can be registered, but the domain name must be strictly linked to the registered trademark or to the company name, the choice of the domain name must be explained in a convincing way to the Registry through a detailed letter.
The request for domain names with immoral significance or referring to Irish geographic locations will be rejected by the competent Authority.
The applicant must provide the necessary information and documentation requested within 30 days from the order to refine & eacute; registration is completed.

It is necessary to demonstrate a strong connection with Ireland.
